Usbek & Rica is a magazine that explores the future with its readers since 2010. With their team, we created a new online media which, each day, analyzes the next challenges to come.
Challenges
- Reward the users for their activity on the website.
- Live up to the print reading experience.
- Be mobile at heart.
- Give to journalists the means to create original web content.
Methodology
- Ideation workshops with Usbek & Rica website’s core team.
- Creation of a complementary currency to reward users for their actions on the website such as like, share and comment.
- Artistic Direction and UI principles decided very early in the project, in order to code a prototype which has been our main workspace to design and test the project.
- Numerous user testing with both end users and journalists.
- Beta testing with 100 users 30 days before public release.
- Continuous improvement based on users and team’s feedbacks.
Outcomes
Usbek & Rica now has a monthly readership 11 times larger than on the previous website (Source: Google Analytics february 2018), with more than 6 out of 10 users reading on their mobile, for whom we designed a mobile-specific version.
Today, they are not only known as a paper magazine but also as an innovative online media, that paves the way to the exciting future they have in mind.
